Luke O`Neill,
Trinity College Dublin

11:30 a.m., seminar room, 4th floor, Wagistrasse 12

Luke O`Neill is professor of Biochemistry and Immunology at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. His research investigates molecular pathways of inflammation, in particular innate immune mechanisms. His work on activation and signaling pathways of toll-like receptors and inflammasomes was the basis for the development of novel approaches to treat inflammatory diseases. His work on intracellular metabolism showed the importance of metabolic reprogramming in the activation of immune cells during inflammation.
